186. Докажите, что существует, и притом только одна, прямая, пересекающая две данные скрещивающиеся прямые а и b и перпендикулярная к каждой из них.
Решение
Рассмотрим плоскость α, проходящую через прямую а и параллельную прямой b. Через прямые а и b проведём плоскости β и γ так, чтобы β ⊥ α и γ ⊥ α (задача 185). Докажите самостоятельно, что прямая р, по которой пересекаются плоскости β и γ, искомая. Докажем, что р — единственная прямая, удовлетворяющая условию задачи. Предположим, что существуют две прямые А₁В₁ и А₂В₂, пересекающие данные скрещивающиеся прямые а и b и перпендикулярные к каждой из них (рис. 68). Прямые А₁В₁ и А₂В₂ перпендикулярны к плоскости α (объясните почему), поэтому они параллельны. Отсюда следует, что скрещивающиеся прямые а и b лежат в одной плоскости, что противоречит определению скрещивающихся прямых.

Задача состоит в том, чтобы доказать существование и единственность общего перпендикуляра к двум скрещивающимся прямым. Доказательство разобьём на две части: доказательство существования и доказательство единственности.
Существование
Пусть даны две скрещивающиеся прямые $a$ и $b$. Нам нужно доказать, что существует прямая $p$, которая пересекает обе прямые $a$ и $b$ и перпендикулярна каждой из них.
1. Построим плоскость $\alpha$, проходящую через прямую $a$ и параллельную прямой $b$. Для этого через произвольную точку на прямой $a$ проведём прямую $b'$, параллельную прямой $b$. Две пересекающиеся прямые $a$ и $b'$ определяют единственную плоскость $\alpha$. По построению, прямая $a$ лежит в плоскости $\alpha$ ($a \subset \alpha$), и так как $b' \subset \alpha$ и $b' \parallel b$, то прямая $b$ параллельна плоскости $\alpha$ ($b \parallel \alpha$).
2. Теперь построим плоскость $\gamma$, которая проходит через прямую $b$ и перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$. Для этого из произвольной точки на прямой $b$ опустим перпендикуляр на плоскость $\alpha$. Прямая $b$ и этот перпендикуляр определяют плоскость $\gamma$. Так как плоскость $\gamma$ содержит прямую, перпендикулярную плоскости $\alpha$, то $\gamma \perp \alpha$. По построению, $b \subset \gamma$.
3. Две непараллельные плоскости $\alpha$ и $\gamma$ пересекаются по прямой. Обозначим эту прямую $a'$. Таким образом, $a' = \alpha \cap \gamma$.
4. Прямые $a$ и $a'$ обе лежат в плоскости $\alpha$. Они не могут быть параллельны. Если бы $a \parallel a'$, то, поскольку $a'$ является ортогональной проекцией прямой $b$ на плоскость $\alpha$ (так как $b \parallel \alpha$ и $\gamma \perp \alpha$), то было бы $b \parallel a'$. Тогда $a \parallel a' \parallel b$, что означало бы, что прямые $a$ и $b$ параллельны, а это противоречит условию, что они скрещивающиеся. Следовательно, прямые $a$ и $a'$ пересекаются в некоторой точке, назовем её $A_1$.
5. В плоскости $\gamma$ через точку $A_1$ (которая лежит на линии пересечения $a'$, а значит, и в плоскости $\gamma$) проведём прямую $p$, перпендикулярную прямой $a'$.
6. Докажем, что построенная прямая $p$ является искомым общим перпендикуляром.
- Прямая $p$ пересекает прямую $a$ в точке $A_1$ по построению.
- Прямая $p$ перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$. Это следует из того, что $p \subset \gamma$, $\gamma \perp \alpha$ и $p \perp a'$, где $a'$ — линия пересечения плоскостей. По теореме о перпендикулярности прямой к плоскости, $p \perp \alpha$.
- Поскольку $p \perp \alpha$ и $a \subset \alpha$, то $p \perp a$.
- Поскольку $a'$ является проекцией $b$ на $\alpha$, то $a' \parallel b$. Так как по построению $p \perp a'$, то $p \perp b$.
- Прямые $p$ и $b$ лежат в одной плоскости $\gamma$. Так как они перпендикулярны ($p \perp b$), они не параллельны, а значит, пересекаются в некоторой точке $B_1$.
Таким образом, мы построили прямую $p = A_1B_1$, которая пересекает прямые $a$ и $b$ и перпендикулярна им обеим. Существование доказано.

Единственность
Докажем единственность общего перпендикуляра методом от противного. Предположим, что существуют две различные прямые $p_1 = A_1B_1$ и $p_2 = A_2B_2$, которые удовлетворяют условию задачи. То есть $A_1, A_2 \in a$, $B_1, B_2 \in b$, и при этом $p_1 \perp a$, $p_1 \perp b$, $p_2 \perp a$, $p_2 \perp b$.
1. Как и в доказательстве существования, рассмотрим плоскость $\alpha$, проходящую через прямую $a$ и параллельную прямой $b$ ($a \subset \alpha$, $b \parallel \alpha$). В плоскости $\alpha$ существует прямая $b'$, такая что $b' \parallel b$. Прямые $a$ и $b'$ пересекаются.
2. Рассмотрим прямую $p_1$. По предположению, $p_1 \perp a$. Также $p_1 \perp b$, а так как $b \parallel b'$, то $p_1 \perp b'$. Прямая $p_1$ перпендикулярна двум пересекающимся прямым ($a$ и $b'$) в плоскости $\alpha$. Следовательно, прямая $p_1$ перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$ ($p_1 \perp \alpha$).
3. Аналогичные рассуждения показывают, что и прямая $p_2$ перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$ ($p_2 \perp \alpha$).
4. Две прямые ($p_1$ и $p_2$), перпендикулярные одной и той же плоскости ($\alpha$), параллельны друг другу ($p_1 \parallel p_2$).
5. Так как прямые $p_1$ и $p_2$ параллельны, они лежат в одной плоскости, назовём её $\pi$.
6. Прямая $a$ проходит через точки $A_1$ (на $p_1$) и $A_2$ (на $p_2$). Так как $p_1 \subset \pi$ и $p_2 \subset \pi$, то точки $A_1$ и $A_2$ лежат в плоскости $\pi$. Поскольку прямые $p_1$ и $p_2$ разные, точки $A_1$ и $A_2$ не совпадают. Значит, вся прямая $a$ лежит в плоскости $\pi$.
