15. В бочку, имеющую цилиндрическую форму, налита вода. Как можно выяснить (не выливая из бочки воды и не производя вычислений), наполнена бочка больше или меньше чем наполовину?

Для того чтобы определить, наполнена ли цилиндрическая бочка больше или меньше чем наполовину, не прибегая к вычислениям и не выливая воду, необходимо выполнить следующее простое действие, основанное на геометрии цилиндра.
Нужно медленно и аккуратно наклонять бочку. Продолжайте наклонять её до тех пор, пока поверхность воды не коснётся самого верхнего края бочки, то есть до момента, когда вода будет готова вылиться. В этом положении необходимо посмотреть на дно бочки и возможны три ситуации:
1. Если бочка заполнена больше чем наполовину, то в момент, когда вода коснется верхнего края, дно бочки с противоположной стороны будет все еще полностью скрыто под водой.
2. Если бочка заполнена меньше чем наполовину, то когда вода достигнет верхнего края, часть дна с противоположной стороны будет уже видна (не покрыта водой).
3. Если бочка заполнена ровно наполовину, то уровень воды образует диагональную линию, которая в точности соединяет верхний край бочки с одной стороны и нижний край (стык дна и стенки) с противоположной стороны. В этом случае дно только-только начинает показываться.
Таким образом, наблюдая за дном бочки в момент, когда вода достигает её верхнего края при наклоне, можно однозначно определить степень её наполненности относительно половины.
Ответ: Нужно наклонять бочку, пока вода не достигнет её края. Если при этом видно дно — воды меньше половины, если дно не видно — больше половины.
