Решение этого вопроса зависит от взаимного расположения данных прямой и точки. Существует два возможных случая.
Случай 1: Точка принадлежит данной прямой.
Пусть дана прямая $a$ и точка $M$, причем точка $M$ лежит на прямой $a$, то есть $M \in a$. Одна из аксиом стереометрии гласит, что через любую прямую в пространстве можно провести бесконечное множество плоскостей. Это можно представить как вращение плоскости вокруг прямой, которая служит осью. Каждое положение вращающейся плоскости будет новым, но все они будут проходить через заданную прямую. Так как точка $M$ принадлежит прямой $a$, любая плоскость, содержащая прямую $a$, будет автоматически содержать и точку $M$. Следовательно, если точка лежит на прямой, через них можно провести бесконечное множество плоскостей.

Случай 2: Точка не принадлежит данной прямой.

Этот случай описывается следствием из аксиом стереометрии: через прямую и не лежащую на ней точку проходит плоскость, и притом только одна. Чтобы это доказать, выберем на прямой $a$ две любые различные точки, назовем их $A$ и $B$. Теперь у нас есть три точки: $A$, $B$ и $M$. Поскольку точка $M$ не лежит на прямой $a$, на которой лежат точки $A$ и $B$, эти три точки не являются коллинеарными (не лежат на одной прямой). Согласно другой аксиоме, через три точки, не лежащие на одной прямой, можно провести единственную плоскость. Эта единственная плоскость будет содержать точки $A$, $B$ и $M$. Поскольку она содержит точки $A$ и $B$, она содержит и всю прямую $a$. Таким образом, она проходит через прямую $a$ и точку $M$. Так как такая плоскость единственна, то и ответ однозначен.
Ответ: одна.
Итог:
Таким образом, на вопрос "Сколько плоскостей можно провести через данные прямую и точку?" нет единого ответа без уточнения их взаимного расположения. Если в подобных задачах не дается уточнения, как правило, имеется в виду случай, когда объекты (в данном случае прямая и точка) не совпадают, то есть рассматривается второй случай, который приводит к однозначному решению.
