В плоскости $\alpha$ провели прямую $a$, а в плоскости $\beta$ — прямую $b$ так, что $a \parallel c$, $b \parallel c$. Расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $c$ на 1 см меньше расстояния между прямыми $a$ и $b$, а расстояние между прямыми $b$ и $c$ на 32 см меньше расстояния между прямыми $a$ и $b$. Найдите расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $b$.

Пусть $\rho(x, y)$ обозначает расстояние между прямыми $x$ и $y$. По условию, нам даны две перпендикулярные плоскости $\alpha$ и $\beta$, пересекающиеся по прямой $c$. В плоскости $\alpha$ проведена прямая $a$, параллельная $c$, а в плоскости $\beta$ — прямая $b$, также параллельная $c$. Из этого следует, что прямые $a$ и $b$ параллельны между собой ($a \parallel b \parallel c$).
Чтобы найти расстояние между параллельными прямыми $a$ и $b$, построим плоскость $\gamma$, перпендикулярную всем трем прямым. Пусть эта плоскость пересекает прямые $a, b$ и $c$ в точках $A, B$ и $C$ соответственно. Тогда расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $b$ равно длине отрезка $AB$, расстояние между $a$ и $c$ равно $AC$, а расстояние между $b$ и $c$ равно $BC$.
Отрезок $AC$ лежит в плоскости $\alpha$ ($A \in a \subset \alpha, C \in c \subset \alpha$). Отрезок $BC$ лежит в плоскости $\beta$ ($B \in b \subset \beta, C \in c \subset \beta$). Так как плоскость $\gamma$ перпендикулярна линии пересечения $c$, то отрезки $AC$ и $BC$ перпендикулярны прямой $c$. Угол между плоскостями $\alpha$ и $\beta$ равен углу между перпендикулярами $AC$ и $BC$, проведенными к их линии пересечения $c$. Поскольку плоскости $\alpha$ и $\beta$ перпендикулярны, угол $\angle ACB$ равен $90^\circ$.
Таким образом, мы получаем прямоугольный треугольник $ABC$ с гипотенузой $AB$ и катетами $AC$ и $BC$. По теореме Пифагора: $AB^2 = AC^2 + BC^2$
Обозначим искомое расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $b$ через $d$. То есть, $\rho(a, b) = AB = d$. Из условия задачи имеем:
- Расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $c$: $\rho(a, c) = AC = d - 1$ см.
- Расстояние между прямыми $b$ и $c$: $\rho(b, c) = BC = d - 32$ см.
Подставим эти выражения в уравнение теоремы Пифагора: $d^2 = (d - 1)^2 + (d - 32)^2$
Раскроем скобки и решим полученное уравнение: $d^2 = (d^2 - 2d + 1) + (d^2 - 64d + 1024)$ $d^2 = 2d^2 - 66d + 1025$ $d^2 - 66d + 1025 = 0$
Это квадратное уравнение. Найдем его корни с помощью дискриминанта: $D = b^2 - 4ac = (-66)^2 - 4 \cdot 1 \cdot 1025 = 4356 - 4100 = 256$ $\sqrt{D} = \sqrt{256} = 16$
Корни уравнения: $d_1 = \frac{66 + 16}{2} = \frac{82}{2} = 41$ $d_2 = \frac{66 - 16}{2} = \frac{50}{2} = 25$
Проверим, удовлетворяют ли найденные корни условию задачи. Расстояния должны быть положительными величинами.
- При $d = 41$: $\rho(a, c) = 41 - 1 = 40$ см (положительное, подходит). $\rho(b, c) = 41 - 32 = 9$ см (положительное, подходит).
- При $d = 25$: $\rho(b, c) = 25 - 32 = -7$ см. Расстояние не может быть отрицательным, поэтому этот корень не является решением задачи.
Следовательно, единственное возможное значение для расстояния между прямыми $a$ и $b$ составляет 41 см.
Ответ: 41 см.
