Для решения задачи воспользуемся векторно-координатным методом. Введем прямоугольную систему координат с началом в вершине $A$ куба. Направим ось $Ox$ вдоль ребра $AB$, ось $Oy$ вдоль ребра $AD$ и ось $Oz$ вдоль ребра $AA_1$. В этой системе координат вершины куба будут иметь следующие координаты (при длине ребра, равной $a$):
$A(0, 0, 0)$, $B(a, 0, 0)$, $A_1(0, 0, a)$, $C_1(a, a, a)$.
Прямая $AC_1$ проходит через точки $A(0, 0, 0)$ и $C_1(a, a, a)$. Ее направляющий вектор $\vec{s_1} = \vec{AC_1} = (a-0, a-0, a-0) = (a, a, a)$.
Прямая $A_1B$ проходит через точки $A_1(0, 0, a)$ и $B(a, 0, 0)$. Ее направляющий вектор $\vec{s_2} = \vec{A_1B} = (a-0, 0-0, 0-a) = (a, 0, -a)$.
Поскольку векторы $\vec{s_1}$ и $\vec{s_2}$ не коллинеарны и прямые не пересекаются, они являются скрещивающимися. Расстояние $d$ между скрещивающимися прямыми можно найти по формуле, использующей смешанное произведение векторов:
$d = \frac{|\vec{M_1M_2} \cdot (\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2})|}{|\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2}|}$,
где $M_1$ — точка на первой прямой, $M_2$ — точка на второй прямой, $\vec{s_1}$ и $\vec{s_2}$ — их направляющие векторы.
Возьмем точку $M_1 = A(0, 0, 0)$ на прямой $AC_1$ и точку $M_2 = A_1(0, 0, a)$ на прямой $A_1B$. Тогда вектор $\vec{M_1M_2} = \vec{AA_1} = (0, 0, a)$.
Найдем векторное произведение $\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2}$:
$\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2} = \begin{vmatrix} \mathbf{i} & \mathbf{j} & \mathbf{k} \\ a & a & a \\ a & 0 & -a \end{vmatrix} = \mathbf{i}(a(-a) - a \cdot 0) - \mathbf{j}(a(-a) - a \cdot a) + \mathbf{k}(a \cdot 0 - a \cdot a) = -a^2\mathbf{i} + 2a^2\mathbf{j} - a^2\mathbf{k} = (-a^2, 2a^2, -a^2)$.
Найдем модуль этого вектора:
$|\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2}| = \sqrt{(-a^2)^2 + (2a^2)^2 + (-a^2)^2} = \sqrt{a^4 + 4a^4 + a^4} = \sqrt{6a^4} = a^2\sqrt{6}$.
Теперь вычислим смешанное произведение векторов $\vec{M_1M_2}$, $\vec{s_1}$, $\vec{s_2}$ (скалярное произведение вектора $\vec{M_1M_2}$ на векторное произведение $\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2}$):
$\vec{M_1M_2} \cdot (\vec{s_1} \times \vec{s_2}) = (0, 0, a) \cdot (-a^2, 2a^2, -a^2) = 0 \cdot (-a^2) + 0 \cdot (2a^2) + a \cdot (-a^2) = -a^3$.
Подставляем найденные значения в формулу для расстояния:
$d = \frac{|-a^3|}{a^2\sqrt{6}} = \frac{a^3}{a^2\sqrt{6}} = \frac{a}{\sqrt{6}}$.
Для удобства избавимся от иррациональности в знаменателе:
$d = \frac{a \cdot \sqrt{6}}{\sqrt{6} \cdot \sqrt{6}} = \frac{a\sqrt{6}}{6}$.
Ответ: $\frac{a\sqrt{6}}{6}$.
