Какие соединения называют комплексными?
Комплексными (или координационными) соединениями называют химические соединения, в состав которых входят комплексные частицы (ионы или молекулы), способные к самостоятельному существованию в растворе или расплаве. Эти частицы состоят из центрального атома (или иона), называемого комплексообразователем, и прочно связанных с ним молекул или ионов, называемых лигандами.
Структуру комплексного соединения можно представить следующей обобщенной формулой: $[ML_n]X_m$, где:
- Центральный атом (комплексообразователь) M: Обычно это ион металла (чаще всего d-элемента, например, $Fe^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Cr^{3+}$), который является акцептором электронных пар (кислота Льюиса).
- Лиганды L: Это нейтральные молекулы (например, вода $H_2O$, аммиак $NH_3$, оксид углерода(II) $CO$) или анионы (например, хлорид-ион $Cl^-$, цианид-ион $CN^-$, гидроксид-ион $OH^-$), которые окружают центральный атом и связаны с ним донорно-акцепторной связью. Лиганды являются донорами электронных пар (основания Льюиса).
- Координационное число n: Это число лигандов (точнее, число донорных атомов лигандов), непосредственно связанных с центральным атомом. Наиболее распространённые координационные числа — 2, 4 и 6.
- Внутренняя координационная сфера: Это центральный атом вместе с лигандами. В химической формуле она заключается в квадратные скобки, например, $[Fe(CN)_6]^{4-}$. Внутренняя сфера представляет собой единую, устойчивую частицу, которая может быть катионом, анионом или нейтральной молекулой.
- Внешняя сфера: Это ионы (катионы $X$ или анионы), которые не входят во внутреннюю сферу, но связаны с ней ионной связью для обеспечения электронейтральности всего соединения. Например, в соединении $K_4[Fe(CN)_6]$ ионы калия $K^+$ составляют внешнюю сферу.
Связь между комплексообразователем и лигандами является ковалентной, образованной по донорно-акцепторному механизму. Лиганд предоставляет свою неподеленную электронную пару на свободную атомную орбиталь центрального атома.
Примеры комплексных соединений:
- $K_4[Fe(CN)_6]$ — гексацианоферрат(II) калия. Здесь комплексообразователь — $Fe^{2+}$, лиганды — ионы $CN^-$, координационное число — 6. Внутренняя сфера — комплексный анион $[Fe(CN)_6]^{4-}$, внешняя сфера — катионы $K^+$.
- $[Cu(NH_3)_4]SO_4$ — сульфат тетраамминмеди(II). Здесь комплексообразователь — $Cu^{2+}$, лиганды — молекулы $NH_3$, координационное число — 4. Внутренняя сфера — комплексный катион $[Cu(NH_3)_4]^{2+}$, внешняя сфера — анион $SO_4^{2-}$.
- $[Ni(CO)_4]$ — тетракарбонил никеля. Это нейтральный комплекс, где комплексообразователем является атом никеля $Ni^0$, а лигандами — молекулы угарного газа $CO$. Внешняя сфера отсутствует.
При диссоциации в воде комплексные соединения ведут себя как сильные электролиты, распадаясь на ионы внешней сферы и комплексный ион, который в свою очередь диссоциирует лишь в незначительной степени (как слабый электролит).
Например: $K_4[Fe(CN)_6] \rightleftharpoons 4K^+ + [Fe(CN)_6]^{4-}$
