Let me start by saying that this is a very interesting question. In my view, I would not like to be taught a simplified version of English. I'd rather learn the real, authentic language that people actually use.

I think that learning a simplified version might limit my ability to understand books, movies, and native speakers in the long run. The most important need is to be able to communicate in any situation. Obviously, a simplified language would not prepare me for that.
Я думаю, что изучение упрощенной версии может в долгосрочной перспективе ограничить мою способность понимать книги, фильмы и носителей языка. Самая важная потребность — это уметь общаться в любой ситуации. Очевидно, что упрощенный язык не подготовит меня к этому.
