Северо-восток США
а) Штаты, входящие в регион: Нью-Гэмпшир, Вермонт, Массачусетс, Род-Айленд, Коннектикут, Нью-Йорк, Нью-Джерси, Пенсильвания
б) Соседское положение с Югом и Средним Западом; приморское положение - имеет выход в Атлантический океан. В этом макрорайоне расположены крупные морские порты страны - Бостон, Балтимор, Нью-Йорк, Филадельфия. Важнейшая железная дорога, идущая из Детройта, также проходит через Северо - Восток. Северо - восточный макрорайон США расположен на территории Аппалачского каменноугольного бассейна.
в) На Северо-востоке США преобладает умеренный климат. На территории района располагается северная часть горной системы Аппалачи.
Полезные ископаемые - каменный уголь, полиметаллические и алюминиевые руды.
г) На Северо-востоке США проживает около 20% от общего населения, при этом район является наиболее густонаселенным. В мегалополисе Босваш проживает около 45 миллионов человек (14 % от общего населения).
Наиболее крупные города: Нью-Йорк, Филадельфия, Бостон, Питтсбург.
д) Ведется добыча угля, полиметаллических и алюминиевых руд. Соседство со Средним Западом и Югом, в которых ведется добыча железных (бассейн Месаби) и медных руд, каменного угля, газа и нефти (бассейн Галф), фосфоритов, полиметаллических руд, каменного угля. развиты машиностроения, черная и цветная металлургия, текстильная промышленность.
В сельском хозяйстве макрорайона преобладают молочное животноводство, специализированное садоводство. Северо - Восток является главнейшим финансовым экспортером (город Нью-Йорк - самый главный финансовый город страны).
