Dear Alex,
How are you? I hope you are doing great! I wanted to tell you a bit about where I live in Russia. I live in Moscow, the capital city. It's a huge, bustling city in the European part of Russia.
The nature around Moscow is quite beautiful. We have many parks within the city itself, like Gorky Park, and just outside the city, there are vast forests, especially pine and birch forests, and many rivers and lakes. It's lovely to go hiking or just relax by the water during summer.
The main language spoken here is Russian, of course. But many people, especially younger generations, also speak English, and you can hear other languages too, especially in tourist areas.
The weather in Moscow changes a lot throughout the year. Summers can be warm, sometimes hot, around +25°C to +30°C. Winters are cold and snowy, often around -5°C to -15°C, which is perfect for snowball fights and ice skating! Spring and autumn are usually mild and a bit rainy.
Moscow itself is one of the largest cities in the world. Besides Moscow, there are many other interesting cities nearby that you can visit, like Saint Petersburg (though it's a bit further), or smaller historical towns of the Golden Ring, like Suzdal or Sergiyev Posad.
There are so many places of interest here! You absolutely have to see Red Square, the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, and the Bolshoi Theatre. We also have amazing museums like the Tretyakov Gallery and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The Moscow Metro is also a work of art in itself!
I would really love for you to come and visit me here sometime! I could show you all these amazing places myself. It would be so much fun!
