Расстояние, пройденное за один оборот (измерено по рис. I-6): $s = 1,1$ см
Диаметр головки винта (измерен по рис. I-6): $d \approx 0,35$ см
Число $\pi \approx 3,14$
$s = 1,1 \text{ см} = 0,011 \text{ м}$
$d \approx 0,35 \text{ см} = 0,0035 \text{ м}$
$d \approx 0,35 \text{ см} = 0,0035 \text{ м}$

$L_1$ — длина окружности, определенная первым способом

Решение:
Определение длины окружности способом, изображённым на рисунке I-6
Первый способ заключается в прямом измерении длины окружности. Для этого головку винта прокатывают по линейке ровно на один полный оборот. Расстояние, которое пройдет винт, будет равно длине окружности его головки.
Из рисунка видно, что, сделав один полный оборот, винт переместился от отметки «0» до отметки $1,1$ см.
Следовательно, длина окружности $L_1$, измеренная этим способом, равна пройденному расстоянию $s$.
$L_1 = s = 1,1$ см.
Ответ: Длина окружности, определенная первым способом, равна $1,1$ см.
Определение длины окружности через измерение диаметра
Второй способ основан на математической формуле для вычисления длины окружности $L$ через её диаметр $d$:
$L = \pi d$
Измерим диаметр головки винта по рисунку, сопоставив его с делениями линейки. Диаметр составляет примерно $3,5$ мм, или $d \approx 0,35$ см.
Теперь рассчитаем длину окружности, используя заданное значение $\pi \approx 3,14$:
$L_2 = \pi \cdot d \approx 3,14 \cdot 0,35 \text{ см} = 1,099$ см.
Ответ: Длина окружности, вычисленная по диаметру, равна $1,099$ см.
Сравнение результатов
Сравним результаты, полученные двумя способами:
$L_1 = 1,1$ см
$L_2 = 1,099$ см
Округлив результат второго вычисления до десятых долей сантиметра, получим $L_2 \approx 1,1$ см, что совпадает с результатом первого измерения.
Разница между значениями составляет $1,1 \text{ см} - 1,099 \text{ см} = 0,001 \text{ см}$ ($0,01$ мм). Такое незначительное расхождение объясняется погрешностями измерений (неточность при прокатывании винта ровно на один оборот, сложность точного считывания показаний с линейки) и использованием приближенного значения числа $\pi$.
