Отверстия в верхних и нижних частях корпусов бытовых и промышленных аппаратов, компьютеров и других устройств, выделяющих тепло, предназначены для их охлаждения с помощью физического явления, называемого естественной конвекцией.
В процессе работы внутренние компоненты таких устройств (например, процессор, видеокарта, блок питания в компьютере) сильно нагреваются. Это тепло необходимо постоянно отводить, чтобы предотвратить перегрев, который может привести к сбоям в работе или даже к необратимому повреждению аппаратуры.
Процесс охлаждения с помощью конвекции происходит следующим образом. Воздух, находящийся внутри корпуса, соприкасается с горячими деталями и нагревается от них. При нагревании воздух расширяется, его плотность уменьшается, и он становится легче по сравнению с окружающим его более холодным воздухом. Под действием выталкивающей силы (силы Архимеда для газов) этот нагретый, менее плотный воздух начинает подниматься в верхнюю часть корпуса. Через отверстия, расположенные вверху, он выходит из корпуса наружу. Одновременно, чтобы занять освободившееся место, через нижние отверстия в корпус засасывается более холодный и, следовательно, более плотный воздух из окружающей среды.
Таким образом, возникает непрерывный циркулирующий поток воздуха, называемый конвекционным током. Холодный воздух входит снизу, нагревается, поднимается и выходит сверху, эффективно и постоянно унося избыточное тепло от внутренних компонентов. Эта система пассивного охлаждения очень проста, надежна, бесшумна и не требует затрат энергии.
Ответ: Отверстия в верхних и нижних частях корпусов необходимы для организации естественного потока воздуха (конвекции) с целью охлаждения. Через нижние отверстия заходит холодный воздух, он нагревается от внутренних компонентов, становится легче, поднимается вверх и выходит через верхние отверстия, унося с собой избыточное тепло.
