Водители переключают фары с дальнего света на ближний при появлении встречных машин в тёмное время суток по причине безопасности, чтобы избежать ослепления водителя встречного автомобиля. Это явление связано с физиологическими особенностями человеческого зрения и направленностью световых пучков фар.
1. Направление светового пучка. Дальний свет фар предназначен для освещения дороги на максимально возможном расстоянии. Для этого световой пучок направляется практически горизонтально, параллельно дорожному полотну. Это обеспечивает хорошую видимость на пустой дороге, но при этом свет попадает прямо в глаза водителям встречных транспортных средств.
2. Эффект ослепления. В условиях низкой освещённости (ночью) зрачки глаз человека расширяются, чтобы пропустить больше света и лучше видеть в темноте. Когда в глаза попадает внезапный и яркий свет от фар дальнего света, происходит так называемое ослепление. Зрачки резко сужаются, а светочувствительные рецепторы сетчатки (палочки и колбочки) получают избыточную стимуляцию. В результате водитель на некоторое время теряет способность видеть. Он не может различить ни дорогу, ни её границы, ни положение своего автомобиля. Восстановление зрения до нормального уровня занимает от нескольких секунд до минуты. За это время автомобиль, движущийся даже с умеренной скоростью, проезжает значительное расстояние практически "вслепую", что создаёт крайне высокую опасность возникновения ДТП.
3. Безопасность и правила дорожного движения. Ближний свет фар имеет иную конструкцию. Его световой пучок направлен вниз, на дорогу, и немного вправо (в странах с правосторонним движением), чтобы освещать обочину. Таким образом, ближний свет хорошо освещает дорогу непосредственно перед автомобилем, не создавая дискомфорта и опасности для других участников движения. Переключение с дальнего света на ближний при появлении встречного транспорта является не только проявлением вежливости, но и обязательным требованием правил дорожного движения в большинстве стран мира.
Ответ: Водители переключают фары с дальнего света на ближний, чтобы не ослепить водителей встречных машин. Яркий дальний свет вызывает временную слепоту у встречного водителя, что создаёт аварийную ситуацию, так как он на несколько секунд перестает видеть дорогу. Ближний свет направлен вниз и не слепит других водителей, обеспечивая безопасность движения.
