Согласно условию, отрезок $AB$ является перпендикуляром к прямой, на которой лежит отрезок $BC$, а отрезок $AC$ — наклонной. Это означает, что треугольник $ABC$ — прямоугольный, с прямым углом при вершине $B$ ($\angle B = 90^\circ$). В этом треугольнике $AB$ — катет, а $AC$ — гипотенуза.
