Чтобы разделить данный отрезок на четыре равные части с помощью циркуля и линейки, необходимо последовательно дважды применить построение для деления отрезка пополам. Этот метод основан на построении серединного перпендикуляра.
Пусть дан отрезок $AB$. Алгоритм построения следующий:
Находим середину отрезка $AB$.

Для отрезка $AC$: строим его серединный перпендикуляр. Из точек $A$ и $C$ проводим дуги равного радиуса (больше половины длины $AC$). Прямая, проходящая через точки пересечения дуг, пересечет отрезок $AC$ в его середине. Обозначим эту точку $D$.
Аналогично для отрезка $CB$: строим его серединный перпендикуляр, проводя дуги из точек $C$ и $B$. Точку пересечения с отрезком $CB$ обозначим $E$.
В результате на отрезке $AB$ мы получили три точки $D$, $C$ и $E$. Докажем, что они делят отрезок на четыре равные части.
По построению, $C$ — середина $AB$, значит, $AC = CB = \frac{1}{2}AB$.
Точка $D$ — середина $AC$, значит, $AD = DC = \frac{1}{2}AC = \frac{1}{2} \cdot (\frac{1}{2}AB) = \frac{1}{4}AB$.
Точка $E$ — середина $CB$, значит, $CE = EB = \frac{1}{2}CB = \frac{1}{2} \cdot (\frac{1}{2}AB) = \frac{1}{4}AB$.
Следовательно, все четыре полученных отрезка равны: $AD = DC = CE = EB$. Задача решена.
Ответ: Исходный отрезок разделен на четыре равные части точками $D$, $C$ и $E$, полученными путем последовательного деления отрезков пополам.
