По аналогии с определением сложения углов, которое заключается в геометрическом прикладывании одного угла к другому, можно определить и операцию вычитания. Если сложение — это объединение углов, то вычитание — это нахождение оставшейся части угла после удаления из него другого, меньшего угла.
Определение вычитания из большего угла меньшего
Пусть нам дан больший угол $\angle AOB$ и меньший угол, величину которого мы хотим вычесть из величины угла $\angle AOB$. Для этого необходимо выполнить следующую последовательность действий:
1. От одного из лучей, образующих больший угол (например, от луча $OA$), нужно отложить внутрь этого угла другой угол, равный по величине вычитаемому. Пусть это будет угол $\angle AOC$.
2. Поскольку вычитаемый угол ($\angle AOC$) меньше исходного угла ($\angle AOB$), луч $OC$ будет располагаться между лучами $OA$ и $OB$.
3. Угол, который образован лучом $OC$ и вторым лучом исходного угла ($OB$), то есть угол $\angle COB$, и является разностью углов $\angle AOB$ и $\angle AOC$.
