Для решения задачи обозначим за $x$ количество дней, которое требуется одной из бригад (более медленной) для выполнения всей работы в одиночку. Тогда второй бригаде, которая работает быстрее, потребуется на 5 дней меньше, то есть $x - 5$ дней.
Производительность труда — это часть работы, выполняемая за один день. Примем всю работу за 1. Тогда производительность первой (более медленной) бригады составляет $\frac{1}{x}$ работы в день, а производительность второй (более быстрой) бригады — $\frac{1}{x-5}$ работы в день.
Когда бригады работают вместе, их производительности складываются. По условию, вместе они выполняют всю работу за 6 дней, следовательно, их совместная производительность равна $\frac{1}{6}$ работы в день.

Перенесем все члены уравнения в одну сторону, чтобы получить стандартное квадратное уравнение:
$x^2 - 5x - 12x + 30 = 0$

Найдем корни этого уравнения. Можно использовать теорему Виета: сумма корней равна 17, а их произведение равно 30.
