For big events like a wedding or a special birthday, giving money in a special card is also popular. Usually, we open presents in front of the person who gave them to us to show we are happy.
В моей стране, России, принято дарить подарки на дни рождения, Новый год и другие праздники, например, 8 Марта. Мы часто дарим цветы (обязательно нечетное количество), шоколадки, книги или сувениры.
