Воздух становится чище после выпадения осадков, таких как дождь или снег, потому что они действуют как естественный фильтр для атмосферы. В воздухе постоянно находятся взвешенные частицы: пыль, пыльца растений, сажа, микроорганизмы и другие загрязнители. Падая на землю, капли дождя или снежинки захватывают эти частицы. Этот процесс, называемый вымыванием, происходит двумя основными путями. Во-первых, многие из этих мельчайших частиц служат ядрами конденсации, вокруг которых водяной пар в облаках сгущается, образуя капли воды или кристаллики льда. Когда эти капли или кристаллики становятся достаточно тяжелыми, они выпадают в виде осадков, унося с собой и частицы-ядра. Во-вторых, во время своего падения капли и снежинки сталкиваются с другими взвешенными в воздухе частицами и, благодаря силам поверхностного натяжения, «приклеивают» их к себе. В результате этого «промывания» атмосферы загрязняющие частицы удаляются из воздуха и оседают на земле, что делает воздух значительно чище и свежее. Ответ: Осадки (дождь, снег) захватывают и удаляют из воздуха взвешенные в нём частицы пыли и других загрязнителей, перенося их на землю.
