Первый в мире источник постоянного электрического тока был изобретён итальянским учёным Алессандро Вольта в 1800 году. Это изобретение стало результатом его исследований и экспериментов в области электричества, во многом явившихся продолжением и опровержением опытов Луиджи Гальвани о "животном электричестве".
Изобретение Вольты получило название "Вольтов столб". Он представлял собой вертикальный стержень, состоящий из последовательно наложенных друг на друга пар разнородных металлических дисков (например, цинковых и медных), разделённых между собой прокладками из ткани или картона, смоченными в солёной воде или кислоте. За счёт химической реакции между металлами и электролитом на концах столба возникала разность потенциалов, и при замыкании цепи по ней начинал течь постоянный электрический ток.
Это открытие имело огромное значение для науки. Вольтов столб стал первым надёжным и непрерывным источником электричества, что позволило учёным проводить новые эксперименты. Открытие Вольты положило начало развитию электрохимии (например, открытие электролиза воды), электромагнетизма и, в конечном итоге, привело к созданию всей современной электротехники. В честь Алессандро Вольты была названа единица измерения электрического напряжения — Вольт.
Ответ: Первый источник тока (Вольтов столб) изобрёл итальянский учёный Алессандро Вольта в 1800 году.
