Как вид изображения и его положение зависят от взаимного расположения предмета и линзы?

Вид изображения (действительное или мнимое, прямое или перевернутое, увеличенное или уменьшенное) и его положение зависят от двух основных факторов: типа линзы (собирающая или рассеивающая) и расстояния от предмета до оптического центра линзы. Эта зависимость описывается формулой тонкой линзы:
$\frac{1}{d} + \frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{F}$
где $\text{d}$ – расстояние от предмета до линзы, $\text{f}$ – расстояние от изображения до линзы, а $\text{F}$ – фокусное расстояние линзы. Для собирающей линзы $F > 0$, для рассеивающей $F < 0$. Если $f > 0$, изображение действительное, если $f < 0$ – мнимое.
Увеличение линзы $\Gamma$ показывает отношение высоты изображения $\text{H}$ к высоте предмета $\text{h}$ и также зависит от расстояний:
$\Gamma = \frac{H}{h} = -\frac{f}{d}$
Если $\Gamma < 0$, изображение перевернутое. Если $\Gamma > 0$ – прямое. Если $|\Gamma| > 1$ – увеличенное, если $|\Gamma| < 1$ – уменьшенное, если $|\Gamma| = 1$ – в натуральную величину.
Рассмотрим зависимость для каждого типа линз.
Собирающая линза ($F > 0$)
Для собирающей линзы характер изображения кардинально меняется в зависимости от положения предмета относительно фокуса ($\text{F}$) и двойного фокуса ($\text{2F}$).
1. Предмет находится за двойным фокусом ($d > 2F$)
Лучи, проходя через линзу, собираются между фокусом и двойным фокусом с другой стороны линзы. Расстояние до изображения $\text{f}$ находится в пределах $F < f < 2F$. Изображение получается действительным (так как $f > 0$), перевернутым (так как $\Gamma < 0$) и уменьшенным (так как $|\Gamma| < 1$).
Ответ: изображение действительное, перевернутое, уменьшенное, расположенное между фокусом и двойным фокусом по другую сторону от линзы.
2. Предмет находится в двойном фокусе ($d = 2F$)
Изображение формируется на расстоянии $f = 2F$ с другой стороны линзы. Оно является действительным, перевернутым и равным по размеру предмету ($|\Gamma| = 1$).
Ответ: изображение действительное, перевернутое, в натуральную величину, расположенное в двойном фокусе по другую сторону от линзы.
3. Предмет находится между фокусом и двойным фокусом ($F < d < 2F$)
Изображение формируется за двойным фокусом с другой стороны линзы ($f > 2F$). Оно действительное, перевернутое и увеличенное ($|\Gamma| > 1$).
Ответ: изображение действительное, перевернутое, увеличенное, расположенное за двойным фокусом по другую сторону от линзы.
4. Предмет находится в фокусе ($d = F$)
Лучи от предмета после прохождения через линзу становятся параллельными. Изображение не формируется (или говорят, что оно формируется в бесконечности).
Ответ: изображение не формируется.
5. Предмет находится между линзой и фокусом ($d < F$)
В этом случае линза работает как лупа. Лучи после преломления расходятся, но их продолжения пересекаются с той же стороны от линзы, где находится предмет. Изображение получается мнимым ($f < 0$), прямым ($\Gamma > 0$) и увеличенным ($|\Gamma| > 1$). Оно находится дальше от линзы, чем сам предмет.
Ответ: изображение мнимое, прямое, увеличенное, расположенное с той же стороны от линзы, что и предмет.
Рассеивающая линза ($F < 0$)
Рассеивающая линза всегда создает изображение с одинаковыми характеристиками, независимо от положения предмета.
Для любого расстояния $d > 0$ от предмета до линзы, изображение, даваемое рассеивающей линзой, всегда будет мнимым (лучи после линзы расходятся, а их продолжения пересекаются), прямым и уменьшенным. Оно всегда расположено с той же стороны от линзы, что и предмет, между линзой и ее мнимым фокусом ($0 < |f| < |F|$).
Ответ: при любом положении предмета изображение всегда мнимое, прямое, уменьшенное и находится с той же стороны от линзы, что и предмет, между линзой и фокусом.
