Трос лифта обрывается, и лифт начинает падать. Опишите движение шарика относительно лифта на протяжении всего падения. Решение
Движение шарика относительно лифта можно условно разделить на три последовательных этапа, которые обусловлены изменением ускорения лифта из-за действия силы сопротивления воздуха.
1. Начальный этап падения (состояние невесомости)
Сразу после обрыва троса и лифт, и шарик внутри него начинают свободно падать с одинаковым ускорением, равным ускорению свободного падения $\text{g}$. В этот начальный период, пока скорость мала и силой сопротивления воздуха можно пренебречь, система отсчета, связанная с лифтом, является неинерциальной. В этой системе отсчета сила тяжести, действующая на шарик ($m\vec{g}$), полностью компенсируется силой инерции ($\vec{F}_{ин} = -m\vec{a}_{лифт} = -m\vec{g}$). Таким образом, внутри лифта наступает состояние невесомости.
В результате сила натяжения нити обращается в ноль ($T=0$), и нить провисает. Колебания шарика прекращаются. Относительно кабины лифта шарик будет двигаться прямолинейно и равномерно с той скоростью, которую он имел в момент обрыва троса. Это движение будет продолжаться, пока шарик не столкнется с какой-либо из стенок кабины, или пока не станет существенным влияние сопротивления воздуха на лифт.
2. Этап падения с ускорением, уменьшающимся из-за сопротивления воздуха
По мере увеличения скорости падения лифта, сила сопротивления воздуха $F_{сопр}$, действующая на него, возрастает. Эта сила направлена вертикально вверх. Согласно второму закону Ньютона, уравнение движения для лифта массой $\text{M}$ имеет вид: $Ma_{лифт} = Mg - F_{сопр}$. Отсюда его ускорение $a_{лифт} = g - F_{сопр}/M$. Очевидно, что теперь ускорение лифта меньше $\text{g}$.
В системе отсчета лифта на шарик действует "эффективная" сила тяжести, обусловленная разницей между реальной силой тяжести и силой инерции. Эффективное ускорение $g_{эфф}$ будет направлено вверх, а его величина составит:
$g_{эфф} = g - a_{лифт} = g - (g - F_{сопр}/M) = F_{сопр}/M$
Это означает, что для наблюдателя в лифте появится "верхнее" притяжение, и шарик будет притягиваться к потолку. Нить снова натянется, и шарик начнет совершать колебания, но уже вокруг нового положения равновесия — вертикального положения над точкой подвеса. Он будет вести себя как "перевернутый" маятник. Поскольку скорость лифта, а следовательно и $F_{сопр}$, продолжают расти, величина $g_{эфф}$ также будет увеличиваться, что приведет к изменению периода этих "перевернутых" колебаний.
3. Этап падения с постоянной (терминальной) скоростью
Падение с ускорением будет продолжаться до тех пор, пока сила сопротивления воздуха не уравновесит силу тяжести лифта: $F_{сопр} = Mg$. В этот момент ускорение лифта станет равным нулю ($a_{лифт} = 0$), и он продолжит падение с постоянной максимальной (терминальной) скоростью.
Поскольку лифт теперь движется равномерно и прямолинейно, связанная с ним система отсчета снова становится инерциальной. В этой системе на шарик действуют только реальные силы: сила тяжести $m\vec{g}$ и сила натяжения нити. Сила инерции исчезает. Физическая ситуация становится полностью аналогичной исходной (маятник в неподвижной кабине).
Таким образом, шарик вернется к своему обычному поведению: он будет совершать малые колебания как математический маятник вокруг нижнего положения равновесия. Период этих колебаний станет постоянным и будет определяться классической формулой $T = 2\pi\sqrt{l/g}$, где $\text{l}$ — длина нити.
Ответ: Движение шарика относительно лифта пройдет три стадии. Сначала, в состоянии невесомости, он будет двигаться прямолинейно и равномерно. Затем, по мере увеличения скорости и силы сопротивления воздуха, он начнет колебаться как "перевернутый" маятник относительно потолка кабины. Наконец, когда лифт достигнет постоянной терминальной скорости, шарик вернется к обычным колебаниям вокруг нижнего положения равновесия.
