В точке A входящий ток $\text{I}$ разделяется на два тока: $I_1$, текущий по верхней (короткой) дуге, и $I_2$, текущий по нижней (длинной) дуге. Эти две дуги можно рассматривать как два проводника, соединенных параллельно. Следовательно, падение напряжения на обеих дугах одинаково: $U_1 = U_2$.
Используя закон Ома ($U = IR$), получаем соотношение: $I_1 R_1 = I_2 R_2$, где $R_1$ и $R_2$ — сопротивления короткой и длинной дуг соответственно.
Сопротивление проводника определяется формулой $R = \rho \frac{l}{S}$, где $\rho$ — удельное сопротивление материала, $\text{l}$ — длина, а $\text{S}$ — площадь поперечного сечения. Поскольку кольцо изготовлено из однородной проволоки, величины $\rho$ и $\text{S}$ для обеих дуг одинаковы. Таким образом, сопротивление каждой дуги прямо пропорционально ее длине ($R \propto l$).
Отсюда следует, что $I_1 l_1 = I_2 l_2$, где $l_1$ и $l_2$ — длины короткой и длинной дуг. Это означает, что силы токов в дугах обратно пропорциональны их длинам.
Магнитное поле в центре кольца является векторной суммой полей, создаваемых каждой дугой. Величина магнитной индукции, создаваемой в центре дугой окружности, по которой течет ток, дается формулой, следующей из закона Био–Савара–Лапласа:

где $I_{arc}$ — сила тока в дуге, $\alpha$ — центральный угол дуги в радианах, $R_{ring}$ — радиус кольца, а $\mu_0$ — магнитная постоянная. Длина дуги связана с центральным углом как $l = \alpha R_{ring}$, или $\alpha = l/R_{ring}$.
Для короткой дуги (ток $I_1$ течет против часовой стрелки):
$B_1 = \frac{\mu_0 I_1 \alpha_1}{4\pi R_{ring}} = \frac{\mu_0 I_1}{4\pi R_{ring}} \frac{l_1}{R_{ring}} = \frac{\mu_0}{4\pi R_{ring}^2} (I_1 l_1)$

Сравним модули векторов $B_1$ и $B_2$. Поскольку мы ранее установили, что $I_1 l_1 = I_2 l_2$, то и модули создаваемых ими магнитных индукций в центре кольца равны: $B_1 = B_2$.
Результирующий вектор магнитной индукции $\vec{B}$ в центре кольца является векторной суммой $\vec{B} = \vec{B}_1 + \vec{B}_2$. Так как векторы $\vec{B}_1$ и $\vec{B}_2$ равны по модулю и противоположны по направлению, их сумма равна нулю.
Ответ: Вектор магнитной индукции в центре кольца равен нулю.
