Решение
Передача электрической энергии на большие расстояния всегда сопровождается потерями энергии в проводах линий электропередачи (ЛЭП). Основная причина потерь — нагрев проводников электрическим током. Этот процесс описывается законом Джоуля-Ленца.
Мощность, которая теряется в виде тепла ($P_{потерь}$) в проводах, имеющих сопротивление $\text{R}$, при протекании тока силой $\text{I}$, рассчитывается по формуле:
$P_{потерь} = I^2 R$
Как видно из формулы, для уменьшения потерь необходимо либо уменьшать сопротивление проводов $\text{R}$, либо уменьшать силу тока $\text{I}$. Уменьшение сопротивления проводов (например, за счет увеличения их толщины) приводит к значительному удорожанию и утяжелению всей линии электропередачи, что экономически невыгодно.
Поэтому наиболее эффективным способом снижения потерь является уменьшение силы тока $\text{I}$. Мощность, которую необходимо передать потребителю ($P_{передаваемая}$), связана с напряжением $\text{U}$ и силой тока $\text{I}$ следующим соотношением:
$P_{передаваемая} = U \cdot I$
Из этого выражения можно выразить силу тока:
$I = \frac{P_{передаваемая}}{U}$
Подставив это выражение для силы тока в формулу мощности потерь, получим:
$P_{потерь} = (\frac{P_{передаваемая}}{U})^2 R = \frac{P_{передаваемая}^2 \cdot R}{U^2}$
Эта итоговая формула показывает, что при передаче постоянной мощности ($P_{передаваемая}$) потери энергии в проводах обратно пропорциональны квадрату напряжения ($U^2$). Следовательно, увеличивая напряжение, можно значительно сократить потери. Например, увеличение напряжения в 10 раз уменьшает потери в $10^2 = 100$ раз.
Именно поэтому на электростанциях с помощью повышающих трансформаторов напряжение увеличивают до сотен тысяч вольт, передают энергию по ЛЭП, а затем, вблизи потребителей, с помощью понижающих трансформаторов напряжение снижают до безопасных бытовых значений (например, 220 В).
Ответ: Высокое напряжение используется для передачи электрической энергии на расстояние, чтобы минимизировать потери мощности в проводах. Согласно закону Джоуля-Ленца, потери мощности пропорциональны квадрату силы тока ($P_{потерь} \propto I^2$). При передаче заданной мощности ($P = U \cdot I$) сила тока обратно пропорциональна напряжению ($I \propto 1/U$). Таким образом, повышение напряжения позволяет существенно снизить силу тока, что приводит к квадратичному уменьшению потерь энергии на нагрев проводов.
