1. Что называют смачиванием?
Смачивание — это поверхностное явление, возникающее при контакте жидкости с поверхностью твердого тела. Оно характеризует способность жидкости растекаться по твердой поверхности (смачивание) или, наоборот, собираться в капли (несмачивание). Это явление определяется соотношением между силами межмолекулярного взаимодействия на границе трех сред: твердого тела, жидкости и газа (обычно воздуха).
Ключевую роль играют два типа сил:
- Силы когезии – это силы взаимного притяжения между молекулами самой жидкости. Эти силы стремятся уменьшить площадь поверхности жидкости, придавая ей форму, близкую к сферической (каплю).
- Силы адгезии – это силы притяжения между молекулами жидкости и молекулами (или атомами) твердого тела, с которым она контактирует. Эти силы, наоборот, стремятся "притянуть" жидкость к поверхности, заставляя ее растекаться.
В зависимости от соотношения этих сил возможны два основных случая:
1. Смачивание. Если силы адгезии (жидкость-твердое тело) оказываются больше сил когезии (жидкость-жидкость), то жидкость растекается по поверхности. В этом случае говорят, что жидкость смачивает данную поверхность. Примером может служить капля воды на чистом стекле.
2. Несмачивание. Если силы когезии преобладают над силами адгезии, то жидкость стремится минимизировать площадь контакта с поверхностью и собирается в каплю. В этом случае говорят, что жидкость не смачивает поверхность. Примеры: капля воды на поверхности, покрытой воском или жиром; капля ртути на стекле.
Количественной мерой смачивания является краевой угол (или угол смачивания) $ \theta $. Это угол, который образуется между поверхностью твердого тела и касательной к поверхности жидкости в точке их контакта.
- Если $ \theta < 90^\circ $, то поверхность считается смачиваемой. При $ \theta \rightarrow 0^\circ $ говорят о полном смачивании.
- Если $ \theta > 90^\circ $, то поверхность считается несмачиваемой. При $ \theta \rightarrow 180^\circ $ говорят о полном несмачивании.
- Случай $ \theta = 90^\circ $ является пограничным.
Явление смачивания играет важную роль во многих природных и технологических процессах, таких как капиллярные явления, флотация руд, пайка металлов, склеивание, стирка, нанесение покрытий, пропитка тканей.
Ответ: Смачиванием называют явление, при котором жидкость растекается по поверхности твердого тела из-за того, что силы притяжения между молекулами жидкости и твердого тела (адгезия) превосходят силы притяжения между молекулами самой жидкости (когезия).
