1. Этот эффект объясняется совокупностью нескольких физических свойств: теплопроводности, массы и теплоемкости сравниваемых объектов.
Решение
Ключевую роль в ощущении ожога играет не столько температура объекта, сколько количество теплоты ($Q$), которое он способен передать нашей руке за короткое время. Рассмотрим оба случая подробнее.
Металлический чайник:
1. Высокая теплопроводность. Металлы являются прекрасными проводниками тепла. Когда чайник нагревается на огне, тепло очень быстро и эффективно распределяется по всему его корпусу. Это означает, что не только дно, но и стенки, носик и ручка (если она металлическая) будут иметь практически одинаково высокую температуру, близкую к температуре кипения воды ($100°C$).
2. Большая масса и теплоемкость. Чайник, особенно наполненный водой, имеет значительную массу ($m_{чайника}$) и, как следствие, огромную теплоемкость. Теплоемкость показывает, какое количество теплоты может накопить тело. При контакте с рукой такой массивный и горячий объект способен мгновенно отдать большое количество тепловой энергии ($Q$), что приводит к глубокому и серьезному ожогу.
Горящая спичка:
1. Низкая теплопроводность. Спичка сделана из древесины, которая является плохим проводником тепла (теплоизолятором). Пламя горит на одном конце, но тепло от него очень медленно распространяется по деревянному стержню. Поэтому тот конец спички, который мы держим в пальцах, долгое время остается холодным, даже когда другой конец полностью охвачен пламенем.
2. Малая масса и теплоемкость. Спичка очень легкая ($m_{спички} \ll m_{чайника}$), а значит, ее теплоемкость ничтожно мала. Даже та часть спички, что горит и имеет высокую температуру, содержит в себе очень малое общее количество теплоты. Поэтому при случайном касании пламени или горящего кончика руке передается незначительное количество энергии, недостаточное для серьезного ожога.
Ответ: Опасность прикосновения к металлическому чайнику обусловлена его высокой теплопроводностью (тепло быстро распространяется по всему объему) и большой теплоемкостью (из-за большой массы он накапливает и быстро отдает огромное количество тепла). Горящую спичку можно безопасно держать, потому что древесина имеет низкую теплопроводность (тепло медленно движется к пальцам), а малая масса спички означает, что она обладает очень низкой теплоемкостью и не может передать достаточное для ожога количество теплоты.
