Основным промышленным способом получения кислорода из воздуха является криогенная ректификация (или фракционная перегонка) сжиженного воздуха. Этот метод основан на различии температур кипения основных компонентов воздуха. Процесс включает в себя несколько ключевых этапов:
1. Очистка и сжатие воздуха
Атмосферный воздух сначала проходит через фильтры для удаления пыли и механических примесей. Затем его очищают от паров воды ($H_2O$), углекислого газа ($CO_2$) и некоторых углеводородов. Это необходимо, так как при сильном охлаждении эти вещества могут затвердеть и закупорить оборудование. После очистки воздух сжимают компрессорами до высокого давления.
2. Охлаждение и сжижение
Сжатый и очищенный воздух охлаждают. Для этого используются теплообменники, где он отдает тепло встречным потокам уже разделенных холодных газов. Дополнительное сильное охлаждение достигается за счет эффекта Джоуля-Томсона: воздух резко расширяют, пропуская через специальный клапан (детандер), что приводит к его резкому охлаждению. Повторяя циклы сжатия, охлаждения и расширения, воздух доводят до температуры примерно $-200^{\circ}C$, и он переходит в жидкое состояние. В результате получают жидкую смесь, состоящую в основном из азота, кислорода и аргона.
3. Фракционная перегонка (ректификация)
Сжиженный воздух подается в ректификационную колонну. Работа колонны основана на том, что компоненты жидкого воздуха имеют разные температуры кипения при атмосферном давлении:
- Азот ($N_2$): $T_{кип} = -195,8^{\circ}C$
- Аргон ($Ar$): $T_{кип} = -185,9^{\circ}C$
- Кислород ($O_2$): $T_{кип} = -183,0^{\circ}C$
Колонну подогревают снизу. При нагревании жидкого воздуха первым начинает испаряться компонент с самой низкой температурой кипения — азот. Пары азота поднимаются в верхнюю часть колонны, где охлаждаются, конденсируются и отводятся в виде чистого жидкого азота. Кислород, как компонент с самой высокой температурой кипения, остается в жидком виде и скапливается в нижней части колонны, откуда его и отбирают. Аргон, имеющий промежуточную температуру кипения, концентрируется в средней части колонны и может быть также выделен.
Этот метод позволяет получать кислород (а также азот и аргон) высокой чистоты в больших промышленных масштабах. Полученный жидкий кислород хранят и транспортируют в специальных криогенных емкостях (сосудах Дьюара).
