Для очистки поваренной соли от случайно попавших в нее угольной пыли и железных опилок необходимо последовательно применить несколько методов разделения смесей, основанных на различии в физических свойствах компонентов: магнетизме и растворимости в воде.
Процесс очистки выполняется в несколько этапов:
- Сначала из смеси удаляют железные опилки. Так как железо ($Fe$) обладает магнитными свойствами (является ферромагнетиком), а поваренная соль ($NaCl$) и угольная пыль ($C$) — нет, для их разделения используется магнит. При поднесении магнита к смеси опилки притянутся к нему и будут извлечены.
- Далее оставшуюся смесь поваренной соли и угольной пыли высыпают в воду и тщательно перемешивают. Поваренная соль хорошо растворяется в воде, образуя однородный раствор, а угольная пыль не растворяется и остаётся в виде взвеси.
- Чтобы отделить нерастворившуюся угольную пыль от раствора соли, применяют метод фильтрования. Смесь пропускают через бумажный фильтр, установленный в воронке. Частицы угля задержатся на фильтре, а прозрачный солевой раствор (фильтрат) пройдет сквозь него и соберется в чистой колбе или стакане.
- На последнем этапе из фильтрата выделяют чистую соль. Для этого используют метод выпаривания. Раствор соли нагревают в термостойкой посуде (например, в фарфоровой чашке). Вода ($H_2O$) постепенно испарится, а на дне емкости останутся кристаллы чистой поваренной соли.
Ответ: Сначала с помощью магнита отделяют железные опилки. Затем смесь высыпают в воду, где соль растворяется, а угольная пыль нет. Далее смесь фильтруют, отделяя угольную пыль. Наконец, из полученного раствора выпаривают воду, чтобы получить чистую соль.
