Почему мы видим предметы, не являющиеся источниками света?
Мы видим предметы, которые сами не излучают свет, благодаря явлению отражения и рассеяния света. Процесс зрения для таких объектов можно описать следующим образом: свет от какого-либо источника (например, Солнца или электрической лампы) падает на поверхность предмета. Эта поверхность отражает падающие на неё световые лучи. Большинство окружающих нас предметов имеют неидеально гладкую поверхность, поэтому они рассеивают свет во всех направлениях (это называется диффузным отражением), что позволяет нам видеть их с разных ракурсов.
Часть этих отраженных (рассеянных) лучей попадает в наши глаза. Далее хрусталик глаза фокусирует свет на сетчатке, где светочувствительные клетки преобразуют его в нервные импульсы. Эти импульсы передаются в мозг, который и формирует изображение предмета, позволяя нам его видеть.
Цвет, который мы приписываем предмету, также определяется отраженным светом. Поверхность объекта поглощает свет одних длин волн (цветов) и отражает свет других. Например, зеленое яблоко выглядит зеленым, потому что его кожура отражает преимущественно зеленую часть светового спектра, а остальные поглощает. Если предмет отражает все падающие на него лучи видимого спектра, он кажется нам белым, а если поглощает почти все — черным.
Таким образом, для того чтобы увидеть несамосветящийся объект, необходимо наличие источника света, который его освещает, и способность этого объекта отражать свет.
Ответ: Мы видим предметы, не являющиеся источниками света, потому что они отражают или рассеивают свет, падающий на них от внешних источников, и этот отраженный свет попадает в наши глаза.
