Решение
Для решения задачи воспользуемся свойством параллельных лучей, проходящих через тонкую рассеивающую линзу. Пучок параллельных лучей (в данном случае лучи 1 и 2) после преломления в рассеивающей линзе расходится так, что продолжения преломлённых лучей пересекаются в одной точке. Эта точка называется побочным фокусом ($F'$) и лежит в передней фокальной плоскости линзы.
Сначала найдём положение фокальной плоскости. Для этого проведём через оптический центр линзы $O$ вспомогательный луч (показан зелёным пунктиром), параллельный падающим лучам 1 и 2. Согласно правилам построения, этот луч не преломляется. Затем продолжим известный нам преломлённый луч 1' в обратную сторону (зелёным пунктиром) до его пересечения со вспомогательным лучом. Точка их пересечения является побочным фокусом $F'$ для данного пучка параллельных лучей.
Теперь мы можем изобразить фокальные плоскости. Передняя фокальная плоскость — это плоскость, перпендикулярная главной оптической оси и проходящая через побочный фокус $F'$. Проведём её серой пунктирной линией. Задняя фокальная плоскость для тонкой линзы находится симметрично передней относительно линзы, её также изобразим пунктирной линией.
Наконец, построим ход луча 2 после преломления. Поскольку падающий луч 2 параллелен лучу 1, его преломлённый луч 2' должен идти так, чтобы его продолжение также проходило через найденный нами побочный фокус $F'$. Для этого соединим точку $F'$ с точкой падения луча 2 на линзу и продолжим эту прямую за линзу. Полученный луч и будет являться преломлённым лучом 2'.
