Горизонтально расположенная стеклянная пробирка, заполненная водой, работает как собирающая цилиндрическая линза. Особенность такой линзы в том, что она собирает лучи и переворачивает изображение только в одной плоскости — перпендикулярной её оси. Поскольку пробирка расположена горизонтально, она переворачивает изображение по вертикали (меняет местами верх и низ), но оставляет его без изменений по горизонтали (не меняет местами лево и право).
Таким образом, мы видим все буквы перевёрнутыми сверху вниз. Однако то, как мы воспринимаем этот переворот, зависит от симметрии самих букв.
Слово «СЕЗОН»
Все буквы в этом слове — С, Е, З, О, Н — обладают горизонтальной осью симметрии. Это означает, что при переворачивании сверху вниз их начертание не меняется. Поэтому, хотя линза и переворачивает изображение этих букв, для нашего глаза они выглядят как обычно.
Слово «ДОЖДЕЙ»
В этом слове есть как симметричные, так и несимметричные относительно горизонтальной оси буквы.
- Буквы О, Ж, Е симметричны, поэтому их переворот незаметен.
- Буквы Д и Й не имеют горизонтальной оси симметрии. При переворачивании сверху вниз буква Д будет выглядеть совершенно иначе (её плоское основание окажется вверху), а у буквы Й диакритический знак (кратка) окажется снизу под буквой И. Именно эти буквы мы и воспринимаем как перевёрнутые.
Ответ: Пробирка с водой действует как цилиндрическая линза, переворачивающая изображение по вертикали. Буквы в слове «СЕЗОН» симметричны относительно горизонтальной оси, поэтому их переворот незаметен. В слове «ДОЖДЕЙ» буквы Д и Й такой симметрией не обладают, поэтому при вертикальном перевороте их вид меняется, и они кажутся перевёрнутыми.
