A – событие, состоящее в том, что взятое наугад изделие фабрики является пригодным (или годным).
B – событие, состоящее в том, что взятое наугад изделие фабрики является изделием первого сорта.
Из условия задачи нам даны следующие вероятности:
1. Вероятность того, что случайно выбранное изделие является пригодным: $P(A) = \frac{92}{100}$.
2. Вероятность того, что случайно выбранное годное изделие является изделием первого сорта. Это условная вероятность события B при условии, что событие A уже произошло. Она обозначается как $P(B|A)$ и равна $P(B|A) = \frac{72}{100}$.
Требуется найти вероятность того, что взятое наугад изделие фабрики является изделием первого сорта, то есть найти $P(B)$.
Событие "взятое наугад изделие является первосортным" (событие B) по своей сути является сложным событием. Оно означает, что одновременно произошли два события: "взятое изделие является пригодным" (событие A) и "это пригодное изделие является первосортным".
Вероятность совместного наступления этих событий (то есть вероятность события B) можно найти по теореме умножения вероятностей для зависимых событий:
