Решение. Плотность потока энергии $\text{I}$ пропорциональна $P/R^2$, где $\text{P}$ — излучаемая мощность, а $\text{R}$ — расстояние от передатчика. Поскольку величина $\text{I}$, обеспечивающая прием, зависит только от чувствительности приемника, необходимая для данного приемника мощность передатчика пропорциональна $R^2$. При радиолокации цель, отражая пришедший к ней радиосигнал, сама становится вторичным источником радиоволн, мощность которого $P'$ пропорциональна интенсивности дошедшего до цели сигнала, т. е. величине $P/R^2$.
