а)
По условию задачи, прямая $AD$ перпендикулярна плоскости треугольника $ABC$. Это значит, что прямая $AD$ перпендикулярна любой прямой, лежащей в этой плоскости, в том числе и прямой $AC$. Таким образом, $AD \perp (ABC)$.
Прямая $CD$ является наклонной к плоскости $(ABC)$, а отрезок $AC$ — ее проекцией на эту плоскость (поскольку $AD$ — перпендикуляр, опущенный из точки $D$ на плоскость).
Треугольник $ABC$ является прямоугольным с прямым углом $C$, следовательно, катет $BC$ перпендикулярен катету $AC$ ($BC \perp AC$).
Применим теорему о трех перпендикулярах: если прямая, проведенная в плоскости через основание наклонной, перпендикулярна ее проекции, то она перпендикулярна и самой наклонной.
В нашем случае: прямая $BC$ лежит в плоскости $(ABC)$, проходит через основание $C$ наклонной $CD$ и перпендикулярна ее проекции $AC$. Следовательно, прямая $BC$ перпендикулярна и самой наклонной $CD$.
Таким образом, $BC \perp CD$, а это значит, что угол $\angle BCD = 90^\circ$. Следовательно, треугольник $CBD$ является прямоугольным по определению. Что и требовалось доказать.
Ответ: Утверждение доказано.
б)
Из доказательства в пункте а) мы знаем, что треугольник $CBD$ является прямоугольным с прямым углом при вершине $C$. В этом треугольнике стороны $BC$ и $CD$ являются катетами, а сторона $BD$ — гипотенузой.
По условию задачи даны длины катетов: $BC = a$ и $DC = b$.
Для нахождения длины гипотенузы $BD$ воспользуемся теоремой Пифагора:
$BD^2 = BC^2 + CD^2$
Подставим известные значения в формулу:
$BD^2 = a^2 + b^2$
Извлекая квадратный корень из обеих частей уравнения, получаем длину $BD$:
$BD = \sqrt{a^2 + b^2}$
Ответ: $BD = \sqrt{a^2 + b^2}$.
