Нет, данное утверждение не всегда верно. Расстояние между плоскостями может быть равно 7 см, но в общем случае оно будет меньше.
Рассмотрим доказательство. Пусть даны параллельные плоскости $α$ и $β$, и параллельные прямые $a$ и $b$ такие, что $a$ лежит в плоскости $α$ ($a \subset α$), а $b$ лежит в плоскости $β$ ($b \subset β$). Расстояние между прямыми $a$ и $b$ равно 7 см.
Обозначим искомое расстояние между плоскостями $α$ и $β$ как $h$. По определению, это длина перпендикуляра, опущенного из любой точки одной плоскости на другую.
Выберем произвольную точку $A$ на прямой $a$. Так как $a \subset α$, то и точка $A \in α$.
1. Опустим из точки $A$ перпендикуляр $AH$ на плоскость $β$. Длина этого перпендикуляра равна расстоянию между плоскостями, то есть $|AH| = h$. Точка $H$ является ортогональной проекцией точки $A$ на плоскость $β$.
2. Расстояние между параллельными прямыми равно расстоянию от любой точки одной прямой до другой прямой. Следовательно, расстояние от точки $A$ до прямой $b$ равно 7 см. Пусть $K$ — основание перпендикуляра, опущенного из точки $A$ на прямую $b$. Тогда точка $K$ лежит на прямой $b$ ($K \in b$) и длина отрезка $AK$ равна 7 см, то есть $|AK| = 7$ см.
3. Рассмотрим три точки $A$, $H$ и $K$. Отрезок $AH$ — это перпендикуляр к плоскости $β$. Отрезок $AK$ — это наклонная, проведенная из точки $A$ к плоскости $β$. Отрезок $HK$ соединяет основание перпендикуляра $H$ и основание наклонной $K$, а значит, является проекцией наклонной $AK$ на плоскость $β$.
Так как $AH \perp β$, то отрезок $AH$ перпендикулярен любой прямой, лежащей в плоскости $β$, в том числе и прямой $HK$. Отсюда следует, что треугольник $AHK$ — прямоугольный, с прямым углом при вершине $H$ ($\angle AHK = 90^\circ$).
Применим к прямоугольному треугольнику $AHK$ теорему Пифагора:
$|AK|^2 = |AH|^2 + |HK|^2$
Подставим известные значения длин отрезков:
$7^2 = h^2 + |HK|^2$
$49 = h^2 + |HK|^2$
Выразим из этого уравнения квадрат расстояния между плоскостями $h^2$:
$h^2 = 49 - |HK|^2$
Поскольку $|HK|^2$ — это квадрат расстояния, эта величина всегда неотрицательна: $|HK|^2 \ge 0$.
Следовательно, $h^2 \le 49$, что означает $h \le 7$ см.
Равенство $h = 7$ см достигается только в частном случае, когда $|HK|^2 = 0$, то есть $|HK| = 0$. Это означает, что точки $H$ и $K$ совпадают. Геометрически это происходит тогда, когда ортогональная проекция прямой $a$ на плоскость $β$ совпадает с прямой $b$. В общем случае это условие не выполняется, и расстояние между плоскостями будет строго меньше 7 см.
