Пусть дан многоугольник $A_1A_2...A_n$, лежащий в плоскости $\alpha$. Пусть $O$ — центр окружности, описанной около этого многоугольника, и $R$ — её радиус. По определению описанной окружности, все вершины многоугольника лежат на ней, а значит, находятся на одинаковом расстоянии от её центра $O$. Таким образом, отрезки, соединяющие центр с вершинами, равны радиусу:
$OA_1 = OA_2 = ... = OA_n = R$.
Рассмотрим прямую $l$, которая проходит через точку $O$ и перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$. Пусть $M$ — произвольная точка, принадлежащая прямой $l$. Нам необходимо доказать, что точка $M$ равноудалена от вершин многоугольника, то есть что все расстояния $MA_1, MA_2, ..., MA_n$ равны между собой.
Соединим точку $M$ с любой вершиной многоугольника, например, с $A_i$. Рассмотрим получившийся треугольник $\triangle MOA_i$.
По условию, прямая $l$ (на которой лежит отрезок $MO$) перпендикулярна плоскости $\alpha$. Отрезок $OA_i$ лежит в плоскости $\alpha$. По определению перпендикулярности прямой и плоскости, прямая $l$ перпендикулярна любой прямой, лежащей в плоскости $\alpha$ и проходящей через точку их пересечения $O$. Следовательно, $l \perp OA_i$, а это значит, что угол $\angle MOA_i$ — прямой, и $\triangle MOA_i$ является прямоугольным треугольником с катетами $MO$ и $OA_i$.
Применим к треугольнику $\triangle MOA_i$ теорему Пифагора. Квадрат гипотенузы $MA_i$ равен сумме квадратов катетов $MO$ и $OA_i$:
$MA_i^2 = MO^2 + OA_i^2$.
Мы знаем, что $OA_i = R$. Подставим это значение в формулу:
$MA_i^2 = MO^2 + R^2$.
Это равенство справедливо для любой вершины $A_i$ многоугольника. Правая часть равенства, $MO^2 + R^2$, имеет одно и то же значение для всех вершин, так как длина отрезка $MO$ и радиус $R$ — постоянные величины. Следовательно, квадраты расстояний от точки $M$ до всех вершин многоугольника равны:
$MA_1^2 = MA_2^2 = ... = MA_n^2$.
Так как расстояние — это неотрицательная величина, из равенства квадратов расстояний следует и равенство самих расстояний:
$MA_1 = MA_2 = ... = MA_n$.
Таким образом, мы доказали, что любая точка на прямой, перпендикулярной плоскости многоугольника и проходящей через центр описанной около него окружности, равноудалена от всех вершин этого многоугольника. Что и требовалось доказать.
