Оптическая сила линзы $D$ — это физическая величина, характеризующая преломляющую способность линзы. Она обратно пропорциональна фокусному расстоянию линзы $F$ ($D = 1/F$).
Оптическая сила зависит от показателя преломления материала, из которого сделана линза, и от радиусов кривизны ее поверхностей. Для тонкой линзы, находящейся в воздухе, эта зависимость выражается формулой (формулой шлифовщика линз):
$D = (n - 1) \left( \frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2} \right)$
где $n$ — показатель преломления материала линзы, а $R_1$ и $R_2$ — радиусы кривизны ее поверхностей.
По условию задачи, линзы сделаны из одинакового стекла. Это означает, что показатель преломления $n$ для них одинаков. Следовательно, различие в их оптических силах будет определяться только геометрическим фактором, то есть выражением в скобках $\left( \frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2} \right)$.
Чем более выпуклыми (крутыми) являются поверхности линзы, тем меньше их радиусы кривизны. Для собирающей линзы (например, двояковыпуклой) радиус первой по ходу луча поверхности $R_1$ положителен, а второй $R_2$ отрицателен. Формула тогда показывает, что чем меньше абсолютные значения радиусов $R_1$ и $R_2$, тем больше будет значение всего выражения и, соответственно, тем больше будет оптическая сила линзы $D$.
Таким образом, большей оптической силой обладает та линза, у которой поверхности более изогнуты. Визуально такая линза будет выглядеть более "толстой" в центре по сравнению с линзой с меньшей оптической силой при одинаковом диаметре.
Ответ: большей оптической силой обладает линза с большей кривизной поверхностей (то есть с меньшими радиусами кривизны).
