Запись $m \perp n$ является стандартным математическим обозначением, которое используется в геометрии для выражения отношения перпендикулярности между двумя объектами.
В данной записи буквами $m$ и $n$, как правило, обозначают прямые, отрезки, лучи или плоскости. Специальный символ $\perp$ является знаком перпендикулярности.
Следовательно, запись $m \perp n$ означает, что объект $m$ перпендикулярен объекту $n$. Геометрически это означает, что если $m$ и $n$ — это прямые, то они пересекаются под прямым углом, то есть под углом в $90^\circ$.
Читают это выражение следующим образом: «эм перпендикулярно эн». Если из контекста известно, что речь идет о прямых, то возможен и более полный вариант прочтения: «прямая эм перпендикулярна прямой эн».
