По условию задачи дан четырехугольник ABCD, в котором противолежащие стороны попарно параллельны: $AB \parallel CD$ и $BC \parallel AD$. Такой четырехугольник по определению является параллелограммом. Требуется доказать, что длины противолежащих сторон $BC$ и $AD$ равны.
Доказательство:
1. Проведем диагональ AC. Эта диагональ делит четырехугольник ABCD на два треугольника: $\triangle ABC$ и $\triangle CDA$.
2. Сравним эти два треугольника.
Во-первых, сторона AC является общей для обоих треугольников.
Во-вторых, поскольку $BC \parallel AD$ (по условию), а AC — секущая, то накрест лежащие углы $\angle BCA$ и $\angle DAC$ равны.
В-третьих, поскольку $AB \parallel CD$ (по условию), а AC — секущая, то накрест лежащие углы $\angle BAC$ и $\angle DCA$ также равны.
3. Таким образом, треугольник $\triangle ABC$ равен треугольнику $\triangle CDA$ по второму признаку равенства треугольников (по стороне и двум прилежащим к ней углам).
4. Из равенства треугольников следует равенство их соответствующих сторон. Сторона BC в $\triangle ABC$ лежит напротив угла $\angle BAC$. Сторона AD в $\triangle CDA$ лежит напротив угла $\angle DCA$. Так как $\angle BAC = \angle DCA$, то и соответствующие стороны BC и AD равны.
Следовательно, $BC = AD$, что и требовалось доказать.
Ответ: Утверждение доказано. В четырехугольнике, у которого противолежащие стороны попарно параллельны ($AB \parallel CD$, $BC \parallel AD$), длины противолежащих сторон равны ($BC = AD$).
