Введем прямоугольную систему координат. Пусть основание $AC$ равнобедренного треугольника $ABC$ лежит на оси $Ox$, а высота $BH$, проведенная к основанию, — на оси $Oy$. Точку $H$ (основание высоты) поместим в начало координат.
В этой системе координат вершины треугольника имеют следующие координаты:
$H(0, 0)$
$A(-a/2, 0)$
$C(a/2, 0)$
$B(0, h)$
Центр искомой окружности, обозначим его $O$, должен лежать на оси симметрии треугольника, которая совпадает с высотой $BH$ (осью $Oy$). Это следует из двух условий:
1. Окружность касается прямых $AB$ и $BC$, значит, ее центр равноудален от этих прямых и лежит на биссектрисе угла $ABC$, которой является высота $BH$.
2. Основание $AC$ является хордой окружности, значит, ее центр лежит на серединном перпендикуляре к отрезку $AC$, которым также является высота $BH$.
