Чтобы найти центр тяжести плоского тела (например, вырезанной из картона фигуры неправильной формы) опытным путем, используют метод подвешивания. Этот метод основан на физическом принципе, согласно которому тело, подвешенное в одной точке, приходит в равновесие, когда его центр тяжести располагается на вертикальной прямой, проходящей через точку подвеса.
Порядок действий для определения центра тяжести:
1. Взять исследуемое плоское тело. Сделать в нем небольшое отверстие (точка А) у самого края.
2. Подвесить тело за это отверстие на гвозде или игле так, чтобы оно могло свободно качаться в вертикальной плоскости.
3. К этой же точке подвеса (точке А) прикрепить отвес — нить с небольшим грузом на конце.
4. Дождаться, пока тело и отвес перестанут качаться и придут в состояние равновесия. В этом положении нить отвеса будет указывать направление вертикали.
5. Провести на теле прямую линию, совпадающую с направлением нити отвеса. Центр тяжести тела будет лежать где-то на этой линии.
6. Снять тело и проделать те же действия, но подвесив его за другую точку (точку В), расположенную как можно дальше от первой.
7. Провести на теле вторую линию вдоль отвеса. Поскольку центр тяжести должен лежать и на первой, и на второй линии, он будет находиться в точке их пересечения.
8. Для проверки и повышения точности можно подвесить тело за третью точку (точку С) и убедиться, что третья проведенная линия также проходит через найденную точку пересечения.
Таким образом, точка пересечения двух (или более) таких линий и есть искомый центр тяжести тела.
Ответ: Центр тяжести плоского тела находят опытным путем с помощью метода подвешивания. Тело последовательно подвешивают как минимум за две разные точки. Каждый раз, когда тело приходит в равновесие, с помощью отвеса проводят вертикальную линию, проходящую через точку подвеса. Точка пересечения этих линий является центром тяжести тела.
