Рассмотрим окружность с центром в точке $O$ и радиусом $R$. Пусть $AB$ и $CD$ — две неравные хорды этой окружности.
Расстояние от центра окружности до хорды определяется длиной перпендикуляра, опущенного из центра на эту хорду. Проведем из центра $O$ перпендикуляр $OH$ к хорде $AB$ и перпендикуляр $OK$ к хорде $CD$. Длины этих перпендикуляров, $OH$ и $OK$, являются расстояниями от центра до соответствующих хорд. Обозначим $d_1 = OH$ и $d_2 = OK$.
По условию, одна хорда расположена ближе к центру, чем другая. Допустим, хорда $AB$ находится ближе к центру, чем хорда $CD$. Математически это означает, что $d_1 < d_2$. Нам необходимо доказать, что в этом случае длина хорды $AB$ больше длины хорды $CD$, то есть $AB > CD$.
Рассмотрим прямоугольный треугольник $\triangle OHA$. Его катеты — $OH$ и $AH$, а гипотенуза — $OA$. По теореме Пифагора, сумма квадратов катетов равна квадрату гипотенузы: $OA^2 = OH^2 + AH^2$
Так как $OA$ — это радиус окружности ($OA = R$), а перпендикуляр, опущенный из центра на хорду, делит ее пополам ($AH = \frac{1}{2}AB$), мы можем переписать уравнение следующим образом: $R^2 = d_1^2 + (\frac{AB}{2})^2$
Выразим из этого уравнения длину хорды $AB$: $(\frac{AB}{2})^2 = R^2 - d_1^2$ $\frac{AB}{2} = \sqrt{R^2 - d_1^2}$ $AB = 2\sqrt{R^2 - d_1^2}$
Аналогичные рассуждения проведем для хорды $CD$. Рассмотрим прямоугольный треугольник $\triangle OKC$. По теореме Пифагора: $OC^2 = OK^2 + CK^2$
Здесь $OC$ также является радиусом ($OC = R$), а $CK = \frac{1}{2}CD$. Подставляя эти значения, получаем: $R^2 = d_2^2 + (\frac{CD}{2})^2$
Выразим длину хорды $CD$: $(\frac{CD}{2})^2 = R^2 - d_2^2$ $\frac{CD}{2} = \sqrt{R^2 - d_2^2}$ $CD = 2\sqrt{R^2 - d_2^2}$
Теперь необходимо сравнить длины хорд $AB$ и $CD$, используя известное нам соотношение $d_1 < d_2$. Так как $d_1$ и $d_2$ — это расстояния, они являются неотрицательными числами. Из неравенства $d_1 < d_2$ следует, что $d_1^2 < d_2^2$. Умножим обе части этого неравенства на $-1$. При умножении на отрицательное число знак неравенства меняется на противоположный: $-d_1^2 > -d_2^2$ Прибавим к обеим частям неравенства квадрат радиуса $R^2$: $R^2 - d_1^2 > R^2 - d_2^2$ Поскольку длины хорд — величины положительные, выражения под знаками корней также должны быть положительными. Функция квадратного корня является строго возрастающей для неотрицательных аргументов, поэтому мы можем извлечь корень из обеих частей неравенства, сохранив его знак: $\sqrt{R^2 - d_1^2} > \sqrt{R^2 - d_2^2}$ Наконец, умножим обе части на 2: $2\sqrt{R^2 - d_1^2} > 2\sqrt{R^2 - d_2^2}$
Подставляя выражения для длин хорд, получаем: $AB > CD$ Таким образом, мы доказали, что хорда, расположенная ближе к центру, имеет большую длину. Что и требовалось доказать.
Ответ: Утверждение доказано. Длина хорды $l$ зависит от ее расстояния до центра $d$ и радиуса окружности $R$ согласно формуле $l = 2\sqrt{R^2 - d^2}$. Из этой формулы видно, что при уменьшении $d$ (то есть при приближении хорды к центру) значение подкоренного выражения $R^2 - d^2$ увеличивается, а следовательно, увеличивается и длина хорды $l$.
