Количество зерен на каждой клетке шахматной доски образует геометрическую прогрессию. Первый член этой прогрессии $b_1 = 1$ (зерно на первой клетке), знаменатель прогрессии $q = 2$ (количество зерен удваивается на каждой следующей клетке), а количество членов прогрессии $n = 64$ (по числу клеток на доске).
