Пусть дан равнобедренный треугольник. По условию, его боковая сторона равна 16 см, а угол при основании — $15^\circ$. В равнобедренном треугольнике углы при основании равны, значит, оба угла при основании равны по $15^\circ$.
Для нахождения площади треугольника воспользуемся формулой $S = \frac{1}{2}ab\sin\gamma$, где $a$ и $b$ – две стороны треугольника, а $\gamma$ – угол между ними.
В нашем случае удобно взять две боковые стороны, так как их длины известны: $a = 16$ см и $b = 16$ см. Угол $\gamma$ между ними — это угол при вершине треугольника.
Сумма углов в треугольнике равна $180^\circ$. Найдем угол при вершине $\gamma$:
$\gamma = 180^\circ - (15^\circ + 15^\circ) = 180^\circ - 30^\circ = 150^\circ$.
Теперь подставим все известные значения в формулу площади:
$S = \frac{1}{2} \cdot 16 \cdot 16 \cdot \sin(150^\circ)$.
Используя тригонометрическую формулу приведения $\sin(180^\circ - \alpha) = \sin(\alpha)$, находим значение $\sin(150^\circ)$:
$\sin(150^\circ) = \sin(180^\circ - 30^\circ) = \sin(30^\circ) = \frac{1}{2}$.
Вычисляем площадь:
$S = \frac{1}{2} \cdot 16 \cdot 16 \cdot \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{4} \cdot 256 = 64 \text{ см}^2$.
Ответ: $64 \text{ см}^2$.
