Площадь треугольника $S$ можно найти по формуле $S = \frac{1}{2}ah$, где $a$ – сторона треугольника, а $h$ – высота, проведенная к этой стороне. Из этой формулы можно выразить высоту: $h = \frac{2S}{a}$.
Для одного и того же треугольника его площадь $S$ является постоянной величиной. Из формулы $h = \frac{2S}{a}$ видно, что высота обратно пропорциональна длине стороны, к которой она проведена. Это означает, что наименьшая высота треугольника проведена к его наибольшей стороне.
В данном треугольнике стороны равны 13 см, 20 см и 21 см. Наибольшей стороной является сторона длиной 21 см. Следовательно, нам нужно найти высоту, проведенную к этой стороне.
Для начала найдем площадь треугольника, используя формулу Герона, так как известны все три стороны:
$S = \sqrt{p(p-a)(p-b)(p-c)}$, где $p$ – полупериметр треугольника, а $a, b, c$ – его стороны.
1. Вычислим полупериметр $p$:
$p = \frac{13 + 20 + 21}{2} = \frac{54}{2} = 27$ см.
2. Подставим значения в формулу Герона, чтобы найти площадь $S$:
$S = \sqrt{27(27-13)(27-20)(27-21)} = \sqrt{27 \cdot 14 \cdot 7 \cdot 6}$

$S = \sqrt{(3^3) \cdot (2 \cdot 7) \cdot 7 \cdot (2 \cdot 3)} = \sqrt{3^4 \cdot 7^2 \cdot 2^2} = 3^2 \cdot 7 \cdot 2 = 9 \cdot 14 = 126$ см2.
3. Теперь, зная площадь и длину наибольшей стороны (21 см), найдем наименьшую высоту $h_{min}$:
$S = \frac{1}{2} \cdot a_{max} \cdot h_{min}$
$126 = \frac{1}{2} \cdot 21 \cdot h_{min}$
$h_{min} = \frac{126 \cdot 2}{21} = \frac{252}{21} = 12$ см.
Ответ: 12 см.
