Тени, даже при одном источнике света, никогда не бывают совершенно тёмными (абсолютно чёрными) из-за нескольких физических явлений, которые приводят к тому, что в область тени всё равно попадает некоторое количество света. В идеальных условиях (точечный источник света, непрозрачный объект и отсутствие окружающей среды и отражающих поверхностей) тень была бы абсолютно тёмной. Однако в реальности это не так.
Основными причинами являются:
1. Рассеяние света. Свет, проходя через среду, например, воздух, взаимодействует с её частицами (молекулами газов, пылинками, капельками воды). В результате этого взаимодействия световые лучи отклоняются от своего первоначального прямолинейного направления и рассеиваются во все стороны. Часть этих рассеянных лучей попадает в область геометрической тени, подсвечивая её. Именно благодаря рассеянию света в атмосфере мы видим голубое небо и можем видеть предметы в тени днём.
2. Отражение света от окружающих предметов. Лучи света от источника попадают не только на предмет, отбрасывающий тень, но и на все окружающие поверхности (стены, потолок, пол, другие предметы). Эти поверхности отражают свет, причём большинство из них делают это диффузно, то есть во всех направлениях. Часть этого отражённого света достигает области тени и освещает её. В комнате с белыми стенами тени всегда будут светлее, чем в комнате с чёрными, так как белые стены отражают больше света.
3. Дифракция света. Свет обладает волновыми свойствами. Проходя мимо края непрозрачного предмета, световые волны способны огибать это препятствие и проникать в область тени. Это явление называется дифракцией. Хотя для крупных объектов и обычных источников света вклад дифракции в освещённость тени невелик по сравнению с рассеянием и отражением, она также способствует тому, что граница тени не является абсолютно резкой и в тень проникает некоторое количество света.
Таким образом, в область тени всегда проникает свет от вторичных источников: рассеянный атмосферой и отражённый от соседних объектов. Эти явления не позволяют тени быть абсолютно тёмной.
Ответ: Тени не бывают совершенно тёмными, потому что в область тени всегда попадает свет, рассеянный частицами воздуха, а также свет, отражённый от окружающих предметов (стен, пола и т.д.). Эти вторичные источники света подсвечивают тень, не давая ей быть абсолютно чёрной.
